Is this camp held outside the entire time, or do they have the option to go indoors for a bit?
We are outside all day with the exception of using the restrooms. On extremely hot day’s there is plenty of shade around our fields and we instruct our coaching staff to make use of this shade whenever possible.
Will they get fed lunch, or do they have to bring their own?
Families are asked to provide their camper with their own lunch as there is no option to purchase lunch.
What is the daily/weekly schedule?
Just imagine the funnest week of your life and multiply it by 100… that’s about how much fun Boston Baseball Camp is!
- Camp begins at 9:00 each morning. Campers should arrive between 8:45 and 8:55. Drop off is in front of the Bajko ice hockey rink. Staff will be on duty to greet campers, from there they will be escorted down to the ball fields. They will then be placed into teams for some fun, contests, and games. If they learn a little bit about baseball that is a bonus and we just want the kids to have fun. Closing exercises are also held in front of the rink daily at 1:50. Parents are invited. Campers are released to parents or designated driver at 2:00.
*Early release of campers is discouraged, but can be accommodated if the camper presents a note to Coach McCarthy or Coach Gavin in the morning. One of these two will release the camper to their parent or designated driver at the appointed time.
My son is turning 9 on July 7th, should I sign him up to the A group or Futures?
You should sign your child up with whatever age group their birthday falls on while they are in our care. If there is a safety concern please let the coaching staff know when you check in your player on their first day of camp.
What should we bring?
A camp will be issued to every camper on the 1st day they attend camp. Campers will be required to wear this hat daily throughout the time they are enrolled at camp.
For all of our campers, we encourage you to bring:
A glove (if needed, we have extras)
A lunch
A water - However, we will have jugs to fill up cups
A smile
Campers are also welcomed to wear/bring, but are certainly not required:
Cleats
Baseball Pants
Bats (we supply all of the bats)
Helmets (we supply all of the helmets)
In other words, please send in your child with a camp issued hat and whatever they feel comfortable in, we will take care of the rest.
What is the deal with weather?
We highly recommend wearing sunscreen on those sunny days. In the event of rain in the AM parents should use their own discretion. Every effort will be made to hold camp, but we have limited indoor facilities. If it begins to rain during the day, campers will be brought to a protected area until the rain stops. Parents are encouraged to pick up the campers if it appears that the rain will wash out the day’s activities. We will do our best to communicate with our weather related concerns with our families through our website (www.BostonBaseballCamp.org), our Facebook page, and via email.
What’s the protocol for a rainy day?
We do not have access to an indoor facility and an email will be sent and a message will be posted on our Facebook Page. Campers can make up a day in any week of their choice.
How do I turn in my health forms?
One item that is required by the City of Boston Health Department is a copy of your most recent physical (2 years). If have not already emailed it to [email protected] we strongly encourage to ensure the morning registration process runs smoothly. Thank you to those who have already sent along their forms.

A few important rules:
-
Safety is our #1 concern
-
Campers must remain with their team and coach at all times. All teams will follow the daily schedule
-
Camp issued hats must be worn at all times for both identification and protection from the sun
-
Participation in all aspects of camp schedule is required unless a documented condition exists
Both SPORTSMANSHIP and RESPECT are REQUIRED
If a camper violates any of the above rules:
1. A warning will be issued by the coach
2. Camper will spend a time-out with Coach McCarthy or Coach Gavin
3. Continued misbehavior will lead to a parent conference and possibly a one day suspension.
4. As a final measure, following a conference with the camper’s parent, the camper may be removed from camp.
